If you have read our guide on \u201cHow to Create a Complete Security System,\u201d you know that there are many aspects of you personal security and safety. From you camera surveillance to your auto dialing alarms, your security system is only as strong as its weakest link.<\/p>\n

Biometric fingerprint locks allow you to lock and unlock doors with a swipe of your finger, and have overriding keys in case of emergencies.<\/p>\n

They function as a dead bolt in that the locks cannot be moved from the open position except by rotating the lock cylinder via key (or finger print) making them much harder to open with a picking device than their spring bolt cousins.<\/p>\n

The fingerprint scanning time takes about 1 second and you can store up to 30 users on a single lock (although it may be better to use less users with a finger print from each hand)<\/p>\n

As well, the batteries last approximately 1 year under normal conditions (5000 cycles) so you don’t have to worry about your dead bolt going dead, so to speak.<\/p>\n

Although most offices use them for privacy and security of their inner board rooms and file rooms, Many home owners are finding that biometric locks are much less of a hassle when coming home to their exterior door and no longer fumbling for keys.<\/p>\n

Of course the added safety and security can give you a better nights sleep as well. <\/strong><\/p>\n
